Everybody Loves Chevrons

Yup, that's right. It seems like chevrons are EVERYWHERE especially on Pinterest. And up until last week, they were everywhere except for Jo-Ann Fabrics. Every time I shop, I always look for chevron prints there, and always come up empty handed.

But not anymore, they finally got in some cool chevron fabric! woot woot!!

And apparently, I'm not the only one who was overly excited because the sales girl told me she was just as excited and they have almost sold out everything they got in within the first couple of days. Hopefully, they'll start carrying more colors too.

Now I just need to figure out what to use my long awaited fabric on.

Sock Monkey Bibs!

When Mimi was a baby, my mom got us a lot of really awesome handmade bibs off of etsy. We had them to match every outfit, or so it seemed. They saved us from a lot of devastating stains. The handmade ones were also much cuter and unique than the store bought ones.

And until recently, I really had no idea how quick and easy bibs were to make. I found a pattern on Pinterest that I enlarged a bit and went from there, and ended up making these.

I decided to make something that was unisex especially since I'm in need of some gifts for boys. I'm not the biggest fan of unisex things for babies. I can't help it, I just love pink too much and plus baby girl stuff is so much cuter. :)

The polka dot fabric was a random find at Jo-Ann's that I got a while back. I really had nothing in mind when I bought it so it ended up in the bottom of my tub of fabric. I forgot that my mom gave me the sock monkey fabric a few years back. Paired together the fabrics really compliment each other.

I backed the bibs with lightweight fleece. I originally intended to use towel backing, but the lady at the fabric store recommended the fleece. Hopefully it will wash up nicely.

Off to make some more.

Until next time.......

MiSo With Love

Why MiSo With Love?

Well, MiSo is a combination of my daughter's first and middle names (Mia Sophia.) And if it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't sew. Everything I've made so far I've had her in mind. So it was the only natural choice to choose the name MiSo With Love. Though everything I make may not be perfect, it's made with love.

I use an older model Kenmore sewing machine that my mom gave me. And it suits me just fine.

I'm a purely self taught. And thanks to various Pinterest tutorials and Youtube, I've learned the basics. I learn something new everyday and I have gotten more confidant sewing in the short time I've been sewing.

This will be my new home to show what I'm currently making and what I've finished.

Enjoy!
